Welcome to Our Kindergarten Transition Program - 'Ready, Set, Holsworthy'

We’re excited to welcome your child to our school community through our four-week Kindergarten Transition Program. This program is designed to gently introduce children to school life in a fun and supportive way. During their 4 visits, children will spend time in the classroom engaging in a range of activities such as play, reading stories, singing songs, and creating art. These sessions help them build friendships, become familiar with their new environment, and get to know our teachers and routines—making the start of school a positive experience.

While the children are enjoying their classroom time, parents are invited to attend informative sessions in the school hall. These sessions cover many topics from general school information to practical tips on supporting your child at home. In the past, we have also welcomed guest speakers, including our EALD (English as an Additional Language or Dialect) teacher and speech pathologists, who offer valuable insights into language development and learning support at Holsworthy Public School.

Together, we aim to ensure a smooth and confident start to your child’s school journey. We look forward to partnering with you!

Building Strong Foundations Through Preschool Partnerships

In addition to our Ready, Set, Holsworthy program, we also partner with local preschools to help children build confidence and feel connected to our school community before they officially start.

Throughout the year, preschool children are invited to join us for special events such as our Hat Parade, Teddy Bear Picnic, and Book Character Day. These fun and inclusive experiences are always a highlight for the children as they become familiar with our school environment in a relaxed and joyful way.

We also welcome preschool groups to our school library for story time sessions, and into classrooms to take part in literacy groups. These visits help children meet our teachers, explore different learning spaces, and begin forming friendships with future classmates.

By creating these early connections, we aim to make the transition to school smooth and enjoyable for both children and families. We value our strong relationships with local preschools and look forward to welcoming your child into our Holsworthy community!
