Big things happen at HPS!
Education Week 2025 - Ignite Your Potential
This year, our Public Education Week celebrations were filled with creativity, talent, and community spirit. Students dressed up as what they want to be when they grow up, inspiring everyone with their big dreams. We had a fantastic response to our caterpillar head competition, with so many colourful and imaginative entries. Our Open Day welcomed many parents and family members, who enjoyed a showcase of our talented students performing before visiting classrooms to see STEM learning in action. Students also took part in Challenge Day, putting their creativity, problem-solving, and physical skills to the test across a variety of exciting activities.
2025 Athletics Carnival
This year’s Athletics Carnival was extra special as we held it at The Ridge Athletics Track for the first time. Our students shone on the track and field, showing outstanding sportsmanship and impressive athletic talent. The atmosphere was electric during the 100m finals, as our fastest runners raced for a place and the chance to represent our school at the Zone Championships. A big thank you to our dedicated staff, wonderful parent volunteers, and enthusiastic supporters who helped make the day such a success. Your encouragement and assistance ensured a fantastic carnival for all.
Year 6 Camp- Canberra
Our Year 6 students recently enjoyed an unforgettable camp to Canberra, packed with learning, discovery, and fun. As part of our History unit on the development of democracy, students visited Parliament House, the Electoral Commission, and the Australian War Memorial. They explored exciting science and technology exhibits at Questacon and toured the Australian Institute of Sport to see where our nation’s top athletes train. Throughout the camp, students demonstrated outstanding behaviour, embraced every experience, and strengthened friendships during their final primary school camp.
Year 4 Camp
Our Year 4 students recently enjoyed their very first overnight school camp at Stanwell Tops! Over the two days, they embraced outdoor challenges that built resilience and teamwork. Highlights included the vertical cluster ropes course, rock climbing tower, giant swing, archery, and a survivor-style problem-solving challenge. Students supported each other, tested their limits, and created unforgettable memories together.
K-2 Easter Hat Parade
Earlier this year, our K–2 students lit up the playground with their colourful and imaginative Easter-themed hats. From bright bunny ears to baskets brimming with eggs, each creation showcased the wonderful creativity and effort of our students. We were delighted to welcome many parents, grandparents, and friends who joined us to cheer on the parade, making it a joyful celebration for our whole school community.
This event is definitely a highlight on our calendar each year for our K-2 students!
Book Week Character Parade
Each year our school gathers to celebrate our love of books and reading at our annual Book Week Character Parade. We welcome members of our community for the parade and invite students and parents to purchase a new book from our book fair.
Students (and teachers!) dressed up in the most amazing and creative costumes inspired by their favourite books. From brave adventurers and magical creatures to superheroes and classic storybook characters, our parade was filled with colour, excitement, and imagination!
